Frequently Asked Questions
History
Today, most of society has abdicated healing to medical professionals, who frequently name a disease and talk about that part of the body that has broken down ... not about the whole body which is living that breakdown. Even when medicine can fix the body, that doesn’t always put the life back together. The Parish Nurse helps the person live through the disease, to talk about hopes and disappointments, joys and sorrows, and to work out new ways of living with the changes that illness can bring.
